Kindness starts at school

Kind Schools aims to bring the wisdom and timeless value of kindness into the heart of school life. The latest scientific research demonstrates that cultivating kindness constructively addresses major issues for young people and the community: such as anxiety, bullying, self-doubt and disengagement from learning.

We call our approach “sowing the seeds of kindness”:
actively caring for the
self, others, and the world.

Kindness makes everyone feel good

Kindness Makes Everyone Feel Good: Imagine what the world would look like if each person was just a little kinder? A recent Oxford University study found that the kinder you are to others, the happier you’ll become: even just witnessing an act of kindness produces positive effects in the brain. In other words, kindness has a ripple effect. We call it a cascade of kindness.

Kindness takes us to new places

Kindness creates wellbeing, pleasure, and longevity. We know that acts of kindness stimulate happy hormones and release chemicals like serotonin in the brain. We also know that people who engage in acts of kindness are more likely to live longer, healthier lives.

Make kindness your superpower

Kindness relieves stress, anxiety, and depression. Practicing kindness produces endorphins and lessens our body’s production of the stress hormone cortisol. Studies have even shown that kindness lowers blood pressure by producing the ‘love hormone’ oxytocin, which dilates the blood vessels and protects the heart. Kindness is good for you!
